Rex Dayola, LPC

Rex Dayola, LPC a mental health counselor that specializes in LGBTQ, ADHD, anxiety and depression through online therapy at Obsidian Counseling.

My Interest in Mental Health

I find people to be profoundly fascinating. I am drawn to the machinations of the human mind and the driving forces brewing deep within the body’s emotions. My inquisitive mind has motivated me to be curious about other people’s internal world. What about you? What piques your curiosity? What motivates you in your life? If you struggle to find the curiosity and motivation in your life, I encourage you to reach out! The support you need is within your grasp.

Clinical Approach

First and foremost, I am here to listen and to support. My utmost goal as your therapist is to meet you where you are at and to meet you as you are.

Who says there’s something wrong with you?

My goal is to help you help yourself, and I cannot fix what is not broken. However, as humans, we all have needs and desires, and I can help you identify your own needs, desires, and goals. In our work together, we can help you create meaningful, specific, and attainable goals to enable you to get your needs met and desires fulfilled. Likewise, I can help provide you with clinical psychological education and coping strategies to help you understand yourself and how you navigate your own internal and external world.

I aim to provide you with a creative, eclectic, and individualized therapeutic approach that matches your specialized needs. In my work, I enjoy utilizing emotionally-focused therapy, insight-oriented strategies, mind-body connection, mindfulness, music therapy, and roleplaying. Additionally, I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
